C27400 Yellow Brass "63/37" Coil/Strip
C27400 copper strip and coil is a brass-based copper alloy material, with copper (Cu) content of 57% to 60%, zinc (Zn) content of 38% to 40%, and trace amounts of iron (Fe), manganese (Mn) and impurity elements. This material is widely used in the manufacture of various industrial products such as pins, rivets, washers, nuts, conduits, pressure gauge springs, screens, and radiators due to its good mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and processing properties.

Size range of C27400 copper strip and coil:


Thickness range: C27400 copper strip thickness is usually between 0.5 mm and 16 mm.

Width range: Copper strip width can be up to 1250 mm.

Length range: Standard roll size of copper coil is as small as 300 mm and as large as 1000 mm.

International standards:

C27400 copper alloy complies with the following international standards:

GB/T 2051-1989: Chinese national standard for low-phosphorus brass materials.

DIN EN 13601: European standard for highly conductive copper strip.


Chemical composition (mass percentage)

Copper (Cu): 61%-64%

Zinc (Zn): Balance (about 35%-39%)

Lead (Pb): ≤0.10% (some data suggest 0.08%-0.5%, but most limit to ≤0.1%)

Iron (Fe): ≤0.05%-0.15%

Other elements (such as nickel, tin, aluminum, etc.): Total ≤0.5%


Mechanical properties are significantly affected by processing state (such as soft state, hard state, hot state, etc.), and typical values are as follows:

Soft state (M): ≥290 MPa (such as annealed state)


Hard state (H80): 510 MPa (about 74 ksi)


General standard: 220-585 MPa (depending on processing state)


Yield strength (σ₀.₂)


Soft state: ≥160 MPa

Hard state (H80): 379 MPa (about 55 ksi)

Other states: 28-48 ksi (about 193-331 MPa)

Elongation (δ)


Soft state: ≥30%

Hard state: 10%-15%

Semi-hard state: ≥15%-20%
